Wedding photography in the small island of La Palma,  Canary Islands – I&J

When Ido and Jose contacted us to see if we had their Wedding date free and if we could attend their Wedding, I did not imagine the test that we were entering.

Personal wedding

They told us it would be a very personal wedding, there would only be the staff who usually work at a wedding and both of them! There we knew that it was really going to be one of the most complicated weddings we would ever do… until Pedro actually met them. As soon as he did he knew it would be amazing.

We met and had a coffee in the capital of La Palma, Santa Cruz. The sincerity with which they spoke to me and transmitted what they felt and wanted to feel in such an intimate wedding, would make my job much easier. They made Pedro promise not to say anything until the day after the wedding.

A few days before the wedding, he arrived and met them again to plan everything and also to meet for the Engagement session (which you will also see here). When the big day arrived, we were all ready to enjoy their journey with them. The emotion was palpable in the atmosphere, the truth, we were all waiting to see how the ceremony would unfold.

Getting ready

The `getting ready´ photos were just like a normal wedding, although Jose was present at all times. The difference was when we went outside and walked the short distance that separated the house to the altar, there was nobody, just me, his steps and my clicks of the camera. Then I returned to the house again, and Ido’s turn and her journey towards the altar began, although Jose did have to help us at the staircase.

From this point on, everything was emotions overflowing with each and every word, each gesture of affection and each statement for the future, their future. I´m not going to lie, the camera hid quite a few tears of emotion. The experience from that afternoon was unforgettable.

They wanted to share this experience just with each other, with ease, love, and enjoying every moment and so it was.

Our Wedding Photography would announce their wedding to the whole of their family and friends – no pressure!  So, the very next day with only a few hours sleep I got straight to work preparing a slideshow for them with some of their images that would tell their children and the rest of the family that they had got married the day before.

It was one intense Sunday morning, but finally just after lunch, I was able to send them the link and they were able to share the great news with their loved ones. If you would like to see their `day-after slideshow´ you can click HERE.

I can only thank you both for giving me this great opportunity, an opportunity to capture the love you have for each other and your unique Wedding.

THANK YOU. I hope to see you very soon and send you both a huge hug.
